   Nollywood actress Rita Dominic candidly shared her experience of facing “snide comments” and societal pressures regarding her marital status during a Women of Valour International Women’s Day event in Accra, Ghana. Despite marrying in 2022, Dominic recalled how she was frequently scrutinized and discussed on social media for remaining unmarried.

    Addressing the audience, Dominic reflected on the challenges she encountered as a prominent unmarried woman in the public eye. She acknowledged dealing with external pressures and negativity while patiently waiting for the right partner to enter her life.

   The actress recounted the mixed reactions she received, ranging from overwhelming support and love from women across Africa to resistance from certain individuals who adhered to traditional views on marriage and age.

   Dominic emphasized the importance of rejecting judgment based on outdated societal norms, asserting that individuals should not allow themselves to be governed by the opinions of others, especially those driven by selfish motives of the past.

   She shared her personal journey of facing persistent inquiries about her marital status and dismissed societal expectations, choosing instead to prioritize her own happiness and fulfillment. Despite enduring years of scrutiny and intrusive questioning, Dominic maintained her resilience and remained steadfast in her belief in love and self-determination.
